Tips To Determine Access Level
Observational Studies
:
If REB has approved the use of de-identified or aggregate patient information - choose "Connect Care Research Reporting Tools"
If REB has approved access to patient-level data (with or without patient consent) - choose "Connect Care-CIS Chart View-Only"
If REB has approved access to patient-level data (must have patient consent) AND the study requires you to order research-related diagnostic tests (i.e. lab, images) - choose "Connect Care-CIS Write-Access"
IMPORTANT
:
After a site has implemented CC-CIS, paper requisitions will no longer be accepted at AHS facilities for research-related orders for tests or images.
Interventional Studies
:
If the interventional study will not involve medications, diagnostic tests, scheduling patients or following recruited patients in an AHS facility - choose either "Connect Care-CIS not needed" OR "Connect Care-CIS Chart View-Only"
If the interventional study involves medications, diagnostic tests, scheduling patients or following recruited patients in an AHS facility - choose "Connect Care-CIS Write-Access"
IMPORTANT
:
After a site has implemented CC-CIS, paper requisitions may no longer be accepted at AHS facilities for research-related orders for meds, tests or images for interventional studies.
If your study involves a medication or product, the drug/product is required to have a record (or "ERX record") within the Epic application to enable you to order it from the system. R
